Gait ataxia is a form of ataxia (lack of muscle control) that affects walking and is characterized by uncoordinated movement. It's often a sign of underlying neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, or brain injuries.

The practice combines detailed history, bedside examination, and targeted testing to decide whether treatment should focus on vestibular rehabilitation, migraine or medication management, canalith repositioning, cardiovascular coordination, neurologic treatment, or additional specialty referral.
